In other words: Mar 20

Gosh, what a month March was. We’ve all slowed down a bit, but here are a few bits of writing that have grown up, left home and moved in with their friends like the unruly rascals that they are.

Also the featured dog was at Millstone once, it was one of them characters who makes you feel special then lures you into an interminable loop of stick throwing.

Route Reading (or how to be more like Adam Ondra)

The Climbing Hangar: My climbing style is more about winging it than planning and foresight. This blog takes a look at the Adam Ondra, the king of visualisation and not just winging it, to help us all learn a thing or two about route reading.

Coffee outdoors: how do you make yours?

Beyond the Edge: I don’t care what you think the heart and soul of adventure is, but the fuel is definitely coffee. These can also be done inside or whilst self-isolating, if you’re mega bored.

A beginner’s guide to resting

The Climbing Hangar: I’d planned this bit in January as a silly sarcastic type thing, back before the pandemic had been declared a pandemic. It became a slightly less silly sarcastic guide to how to have dedicated days off in a pretty bizarre climate.

Crag Notes: Going Local

UKClimbing.com: Exploring the same place hundreds of times and always discovering something new: the beauty of our local crags. Another one from before the lockdown, it was a joy to write and I hope you enjoy reading it just as much!
